Our Mission

• Education with occupation’ we aim to create competent, educated and honest mechanics, electricians, plumbers and tailors etc. Since our society needs them as desperately as it needs doctors, engineers, accountants etc. That is what we put into practice at Naveed-e-Sahar Trust (registered). We offer basic traditional and religious education and teach marketable skills to children aged 12 and above, with the objective of enabling them to earn their own living in a dignified way. We have prepared a customized curriculum for our children. We have a purpose-built main campus spread over 900 yards. Through our specialized education and training we prepare a literate, civilized and value-oriented citizen, who can feed himself and support his family. For many of these children the alternative is child labour or begging. We charge a negligible amount as fee for vocational training programmes, and provide uniform, books stationery and subsidized refreshment to our children.

How We Got Started

In March 2002 six likeminded individuals residing in Gulshan-e-Iqbal Karachi sat together with the objective of doing something for young boys seen wasting their time loitering in the streets. This culminated in the creation of a vocational training institute in May 2002 in a rented house in Azeem Khan Gabol Goth, adjacent to Block 4-A, Gulshan-e-Iqbal. The institute has since been providing vocational training and basic education to the boys and girls of the community along with fundamental religious teachings.

Our success

Over 900 boys and girls have graduated from the Institute since 2002. Many have established their own shops while others are employed and are earning a decent income for themselves and their families. Over 250 boys and girls are currently enrolled with the Institute, learning different trades such as tailoring, autoelectrical, computers, fashion designing, embroidery, beautician, Henna art, etc.in both morning and evening shifts.

Registration

Naveed-e-Sahar became a registered trust in May 2004, and reregistered under section 16 of the Sindh Trust Act 2020 in Feb 2025. Registration No: #KAR/EAST/011/2025
